Eel I    (Deceased)  (Leopold Stryke)  A costumed criminal who, beyond increased agility, had no real enhanced powers, but did use a body suit that could deliver a lethal jolt of electricity.  The body suit was blue and purple and covered him from head to foot except for the eye slits and acted pretty much as a second skin.  He started his career as an agent for the Maggia clashing with the Human Torch II.  Later, he was grudgingly teamed with the Porcupine and Plant Man (one of the Torch's former enemies).  Shortly afterward, he and his cohorts decided to explore the new Celestial Mind Control when it promised greater power.  His power wasn't increased, but it was made more focused by the mental therapy [DEF #37].  Soon afterward, he was hired by the Delazny Studios in Hollywood as a marine life advisor for a single episode of the Stunt-Master TV show to make ends meet while he figured out what to do with his Disintegration Ray.  His secret ID was uncovered by Johnny (Ghost Rider IV) Blaze, and, after fighting with GR, he was killed by the Gladiator, who wanted to secure the device for his new employer, the Enforcer.    GA:  Serpent Squad I and II.  Former agent of the Maggia.  REL:  Brother of Viper I.

After prison and many many failures, he is left down and out, living in a flop house, and after being refused money by his wealthy model niece, he set a bomb in her boy friend's car not to kill her but to disfigure her [GS DEF #4].  After securing his freedom from prison, he stole a space lab from NASA and put together the second team of the Emissaries of Evil expressly to help him steal the Star of Capistan to help him realize his dreams of world domination.  The plan failed but he learned a very valuable lesson of how it's bad to use other people, from one of his henchmen, Cobalt Man, who got revenge on him by imploding right behind him with the hope of killing him [DEF #43].   REL:  Uncle of Trish Starr.  GA:   Masters of Evil II, Emissaries of Evil II
            First appearance:  TtA1 #38        Died:  AV1 #230

Egghead's Android    Not a true android, this started as an ordinary clothing store mannequin which the evil genius coated in his special clay to bulk up the body and give it strength, and then bathed it in his Living-Cell Beam to give it life, and his Ultra-Beta Beam to make it grow to equal Giant-Man I in size and to give him full mental control over the creature.  The final result was a huge humanoid automaton that he could control remotely with his Beta-Ray Mental Energy Transmitter and whose mass he could increase or decrease at will, and which he sicced on Giant Man and his partner the Wasp in a prearranged deathtrap.  Unfortunately, the Transmitter worked both ways so that Egghead saw, heard, and felt everything that the Android was, so when Giant Man deduced that by spinning the almost weightless Android at high speed would have the effect on the controller as if he were actually being spun himself, Egghead was forced to release his mental hold over his creation.  The guideless automaton eventually walked off a pier into the river.
            First appearance:  TtA1 #61

Egghead's Beta-Ray Mental Energy Transmitter    A device with which the evil genius could command his Living-Cell Beam enervated constructs remotely by boosting his already established mental control.  The device had one draw back, however.  In giving him the ability to see, hear, and feel whatever his creation was experiencing, he could also be affected by the feedback from that sensory input.  He used the helmet to control his Android creation against Giant-Man I and the Wasp, but was thwarted when he was made dizzy by the giant Avenger when he spun the avatar over his head.
            First appearance:  TtA1 #61

            First appearance:  DEF #42

Egghead's Ultra-Beta Beam    A large device created by the evil genius that not only enervates the special clay-like substance with which he sculpts his special automatons, making the substance feed on itself and causing the construct to grow, it also establishes the mental link he has with his creations.  Used to grow his Android to the size of his foe, Giant Man I and make the contact so he could use his Beta-Ray Mental Energy Transmitter to command it at a safe distance.
            First appearance:   TtA1 #61

Egghead's Vibration Ray    A hand held device which allows the evil genius to alter the mass of any object and with it, somehow unlock doors.
            First appearance:  TtA1 #61

Ego, the Living Planet     A sentient planet in the Black Nebula, threatened the Rigellian home planet until he was defeated by Thor.  When the thunder god came again to that neck of the universe, this time to defeat Galactus, he aided the planet along with the nomadic Wanderers.  The victory involved Ego allowing the alien race to take up residence on his surface.  Later, he was revealed to be one of the Elders of the Universe (SS3 #4).  Ego usually appears as an elderly man's face covering one whole hemisphere, but can produce a man sized anthropomorphic rendition of himself, connected by tethers to his surface.  He has produced other of his Protozoid constructs mainly to defend himself, like the Anti-bodies.   In another confrontation with Galactus, the devourer attached a propulsion unit to his south pole and sent him careening across the universe.  He eventually gained control, but the extra output of energy necessary to maintain the control forced the living planet to consume other living matter to sustain himself, much in the way Galactus does.

The truth brought them back to the Temple in Cambodia where, with the premature gathering, Left Hand was going to collect the power for his own use.  Although the group wasn't named until later, the first member recruited was Midnight's Fire [NW #16],  then Bloodstrike [NW #17], Smiling Tiger [NW #19], Silk Fever [NW #21], Night Thrasher [NW #22],

Forever Yesterday    A short lived alternate reality created by Sphinx II employing the power of the Ka where the Egyptian Empire remained one of the world powers with her in the seat of control and everything from our reality has been translated with an Egyptian twist.  Its deviation from our reality began back when Moses confronted the wizard of Ramses II, but this time the wizard won and he became the pharaoh's most trusted confidant.  Decades later, a peasant woman stumbled upon the Ka Stone and brought it to the wizard who uses it to become the Sphinx, and together they forge the Empire through the centuries and quietly guided the course of modern civilization.  In the new world, dubbed the United States of Assyria, an uprising by the colonists led to the abolishment of slavery and freedom for the non-Egyptian races, and there was peace until the deadly culture clash between the Anglo-Slavic states of  Europa and Slovakia led to the first world war.  The Sphinx's involvement in the affair brought the War to and end, and he shifted his seat of power from Cairo to New Memphis City on Maqamam Island in hopes that it would prove a signal to getting the world back on his peaceful course.  But a second world war erupted when the Egyptian, Assyrian, and Anglo Saxon forces were forced to join together against the common foe, the Pacific-Asian Union.  The Pacasians developed the atomic bomb first and dropped them on the social hub of the planet and home of the Sphinx.  With is great power, he was able to save the city by the outlying tri-state area of New Memphis, New Hebrides, and Aknatonicut were obliterated into an uninhabitable wasteland and millions died.  The war was eventually declared a stalemate, but the Sphinx, exhausted emotionally and physically, relinquished his power, granting his immortality to his wife's cat and granting her the power of the Ka Stone.  He died, leaving the second Sphinx as the supreme ruler, and hers was not a benevolent rule.  The following decades saw the coming of the super powered beings, and she consolidated enough of them to remain on her throne; but many were against her tyranny and became rebels including a band of mutants led by the Magneto of that reality.  In the end, four heroes, Marvel Man, Firestar, Nova, and Dwayne Taylor (Night Thrasher) used her beloved cat to force her to face the truth of Sayge, and, when she realized the error of what she had done, she changed reality back, removing everyone's memories of the event.
