Nameless Land (see: Shazana's Realm)
Nameless One An other
dimensional being of great power and ruler of the Undying Ones who spends most
of his time trying to bridge the dimensional gap to other worlds for him to
conquer. His appearance is slightly bizarre, essentially two winged lizard
like demons stacked on on the other as one entity. Unseen, he had sent his
minions to Earth to find a graven likeness of him to allow him passage to that
world but they were bested by Dr. Strange {DrST1 #183]. Sub-Mariner was
sent by the mage to find the statue, and the two working together managed to
close the gap, they thought permanently. Shortly afterward, while Hulk was
battling the Night-Crawler, its dimension was destroyed and they fell into the
realm of the Nameless One, and with the help of Dr. Strange, he and the Hulk
escaped, sealing the gap for good this time, but Barbara Norris was left behind
in Strange's place [IH #126]. Trapped in the lonely place, she became the
willing consort of the creature. Not to be daunted, the Nameless one
struck a deal with an old wizard on Earth and struck a deal with him, offering
to renew his withered body, if he performed a sacrifice at the proper time to
enable him access to the Earth once again. The wizard was prevented from
completing the ritual by the newly formed Defenders [DEF #1]. REL:

Namor (see: Sub-Mariner)
Namora
(Deceased) An Atlantean hybrid much like her cousin, with pink instead of
blue skin, with increased strength, but no wings on her ankles. It
unfortunately, also left her sterile, so, in order to conceive a child, she went
to Vyrra, the exiled geneticist and had a clone of herself made and implanted in
her womb. The plan works, and the child is born and raised with great
success, but the poor girl suffers the consequences of the genetic manipulation
when she experiences over saturation of oxygen and reverts to the appearance of
the ancient Atlanteans. REL: Cousin of Namor. Mother of Namorita/Kymaera. Wife of Talan.
First modern appearance: SUB #51
Namorita
('Nita', Namorita Prentiss, see: Kymaera) A mutant Atlantean hero with much the same powers
and appearance as the Sub-Mariner, super human strength, pink rather than blue
skin, ability to breath air or water, and the ability to fly because of the
little wings on her ankles. Unfortunately, she is also as susceptible to
dehydration as her mother's cousin. She has long blonde hair (which she
later cuts short) and usually sports a green one or two piece bathing suit as a
costume, with golden wristbands, and the earrings that once gave her the ability
to communicate with Namor. After reaching her early teens, she was taken
on as a ward of Betty Prentiss to acquaint herself with the ways of humans, and
later actually began to attend ESU as a part of the Department of Environmental
Science. While a student there, she was involved in an incident at the
contaminated Tomorrow Townhouses site in Queens where she became embroiled in a
battle against the newly resurrected Terrax side by side with the fledgling New
Warriors (NW #1). After the conflict, she was asked to be a member, which
she remained for some time. During this stint with the Warriors, her
world, body, and soul were turned inside out and she mutated into a primitive
Atlantean form and assumed another ID. REL:

Nebula A
beautiful but deadly mercenary and space pirate who hijacked the Sanctuary II
from Thanos. She and her crew of alien pirates eventually created a
duplicate of the ship, dubbing it Sanctuary III and had a reasonably successful
career as freebooters until Thanos, having just been resurrected, took revenge
on her. He caused her lover and body guard, Geater to be killed and he set
her on fire with his eye beams. The on board extinguishers put her out but
not before she suffered terrible burns over her entire body and massive brain
trauma (SS3 #38). One of her crew members, Bo's'n Mantrax, hid her away
rather than disposing of her body as ordered, but the best of his medical
abilities couldn't keep her alive for long. Shortly thereafter, Thanos
gained the power of the Infinity Gems, and with them he made her immortal, but
without healing her wounds, leaving her a pitiable chunk of animated raw meat
(SS3 #45). During the battle to best the mad Titan, it was Nebula and not
the Silver Surfer who retrieved the Gauntlet, and she not only healed herself
but began a campaign to put her predecessor to shame. Thanos joined the
heroes to best her, and she was tried, found guilty, and sentenced to life in
prison in the bowels of Titan. While incarcerated, she was paid a visit by
Firelord, who had come to confront her about the destruction of his home planet
of Xandar, and she had a psychotic break, reliving the abuse piled upon her by
her father, and she became catatonic (SS3 AN #5). Her old lover Geatar was
cloned to take care of her, and he broke her out and brought her to Dr. Mandibus,
who not only revived her mentally, he for some reason replaced her arm and eye
with bionic prosthetics to improve her (SS3 #72). REL: Grand daughter of Thanos. Grand niece of

Squadron Supreme in exchange for restoring their powers and they even threw in
helping him melt the icecaps to do the job. In his humanoid form he is
golden with long white hair and a body suit that looks like a star field.
In his normal form, he is green with tentacles, a fin running up his back, and a
lamprey like mouth. Like his people, he has the ability to change his form
at will, can crate and manipulate inanimate objects, fir force blasts from his
limbs, and even teleport very short distances. He was defeated by the
Defenders when the device that was designed to melt the icecap was turned on him
and caused him to implode, which had presumably killed him. But he was
still alive and reported recuperating in Zaar with the Ludberdites [GS DEF #4].
Later, he returned to Earth, this time not to buy it, but, in his skewed mind,
to give all humans what they wanted, to be under the control of his Celestial
Mind Control Machine and be blissfully happy. He began the cult in NYC,
making people realize what bozos they all were, and soon had them eating out of
his hand, and the cult spread around the world like wildfire. Eventually,
he was on the verge of completing his scheme to the point of being named an
envoy to the UN but was sabotaged by Dr. Strange and the Headmen. He was
finally informed by Strange that people are nothing without the bozo in their
souls, and, realizing his error, and that our race is beyond redemption. leaves

super team of teen-age heroes brought together by Night Thrasher to deal with
those crimes that the larger adult groups won't, those of a more personal rather
than global nature, flouted as being the heroes for the 90's. Thrasher had
originally only meant to collect three other members to form a tight knit
assault force in his sometimes manic battle for justice, but on their first
outing, taking on the resurrected Terrax, they were joined by their last two
members to complete the original roster. Their headquarters is located in
the penthouse of the Ambrose Building in midtown Manhattan (and later a TF
factory on the East River), which was the family
home of the Taylor family rebuilt to function as their base of operations and
their training facility. Working with the team are the two legal guardians
of Thrasher, Chord and Tai. They have not only the fortune of the Taylor
estate at their disposal but the resources of the Taylor Foundation as well,
including a helicopter and a jet. Later it is revealed that the formation
of the team had all been a part of the machinations of the high Priestess of the
Dragon's Breadth Cult, Tai, that would allow her to harness the power of the
Well of All Things by sacrificing this team rather than the selectively bred
offspring of her people, starting before the deaths of Daryl and Claire

Nightcrawler

has the mutant ability to not only teleport himself and other objects for
limited distances (causing the patented Bamf {1st in UXM #95} sound and a cloud
of brimstone smelling smoke), and to disappear when in shadow, he also is
incredibly agile, allowing him to cling to walls and such. Unfortunately,
Kurt is one of the mutants who cannot pass for human, being covered with blue
fur and having hands with only three fingers and feet with two in front and one
in back, and a prehensile tail (known as Fuzzy Elf to Kitty Pryde), so to appear
out of costume he has to use an Image Inducer. He, even after years in the
US, has a thick German accent and after time develops a taste for swashbuckling
and becomes increasingly more religious. Kurt was a performer in the Der
Jahrmarkt circus, but after the accidental death of his foster brother, Stephan
Szardos, on the way home to report to his foster mother of the tragedy, he became entangled with some villagers in Winzeldorf, who mistook him for
the demon who had been murdering their children (Stephan) and tried to kill him. He is rescued by Prof. X and is recruited as

Nighthawk I (Deceased)
(Kyle Richmond I) Bored millionaire who was duped into costumed heroing
by the Grandmaster when he was putting together a team to do battle against the
team created by Kang. He was a troubled child who failed at the Westhaven
Boarding School (where he'd been sent after the death of his mother); he failed
at college (unable to maintain his grades and involved in the death of his
girlfriend), and finally failed at joining the service because of a heart
murmur. Later, after the death of his father left him in control of Richmond Enterprises, he was dabbling
one evening in his private lab with a formula he had found in an ancient alchemy
book he never knew he owned. The potion increased his physical abilities
at least two fold, but only when the moon was bright. He began an exercise
regimen and developed his original costume (the light blue with black trim and
the reddish brown cape), and when he was ready he was recruited by the
Grandmaster (who had provided the formula) to fight with his team mates against
the Avengers. When that failed, still a raging megalomaniac, he tried his
hand at costumed vigilantism, clashing with Daredevil for the limelight, and
only interested in the fame and not actually bringing bad guys to justice.
DD quickly caught on to the fact that he was catching and releasing hoods, and
exposed him for the sham he was [DD1 #62]. Later, his old partners tried
to recruit him when they arranged to sell the Earth to the alien, Nebulon, but
he had already turned over a new leaf, and, when he couldn't contact the
Avengers, he called on the Defenders for help. He worked so well with them
that he was asked to join and he did so with a new costume (dark blue with
yellow chest emblem, gloves, boots, and the feathered eye mask, and a red cape,
fully equipped with a jet pack for flight) [DEF #15]. After the trouble
with RE, Kyle is investigated by the Justice Dept. and he is placed under court
order not to play hero during the proceedings, but he breaks the law with his
new battle suit (faster jet pack and equipped with laser cannons at the
shoulder) to save his team mates from the Mandrill [DEF #80]. REL: Son of Arthur and Penelope Richmond.

contains tentacles, another, spinning blades, the next shoots fireballs, another
(in imitation of the ringer) shoots binding rings, and the last is a powerful
electro magnet. The only way to stop the device is to punch in the

Night Thrasher
(Dwayne Michael Taylor) Wealthy teenager who uses the gadgets in his
special armor, his special skate board, and his honed physical skills to fight
crime, and was responsible for assembling the team of heroes that would assist
him in his sometimes manic quest for justice. Orphaned at the age of four
when his parents were killed, he set about his path toward the revenge of their
killer at an early age, employing two legal guardians, Chord and Tai, who not
only raised him but used their particular talents to train him and mold him into
a perfect fighting machine. Using his inheritance and the influence of the
Taylor Foundation, he started his crime fighting career without any gear, just
his martial arts skills, at which time he joined up with Midnight's Fire and
Silhouette to form his first team. When that went wrong during one of
their operations; the girl he loved was crippled (and he thought killed), and he
walked away with a sizable scar on his face and a lifelong enemy on his list.
Later, he and Chord created special light weight body armor (black with a red and black
helmet) to protect him in the future and to carry his many gadgets to give him
more of an edge, and a special skate board that functioned as transportation, a
shield, and a weapon. He also, from the advice of his two guardians, put
together a second team, hand choosing and recruiting Kid Nova, Marvel Boy II,
and Firestar, using methods not entirely ethical, and ended up, in their first
battle, with two extra members, to the original roster. His team mates
find it difficult to like or trust him because his methods are sometimes on the
harsh side, driven by his unquenchable need to seek justice. Later it is
revealed that most of his life has been a sham perpetrated by the priestess of
the Dragon's Breadth Cult, Tai. She insinuated Chord into the Taylor's
life so Dwayne could be a replacement for his own lost children of the Pact, and
had him kill the boy's parents to start him down the path of creating his own
team which she eventually planned to use as sacrificial lambs in the Well of All
Things. Even his armor was modeled after the guards of the Temple of the
Dragon's Breadth (in fact, he used one of theirs to replace his damaged helmet).
And finally, the true memory of his parents' death, which had been scrambled all
these years by Tai, came back to him. After the affair was settled,
Thrasher dropped to a silent partner in the group for a while, spending his time
getting TF back on its feet and redesigning his armor. GA: New Warriors. REL: Son of

Night Thrasher's Armor
After his initial attempts at crime fighting, Dwayne realized that he needed
some more protection and someplace to keep his various doo-dads, and so, with
the help of Chord and the Taylor Foundation, he created a suit of light weight
armor for himself that, although it gives the appearance of being leather, is a
layered mix of kevlar and ceramics, and a titanium alloy mesh, making him bullet
proof and fire proof. On the right wrist is a pepper aerosol sprayer and
on the left is a garotte wire. On his right forearm is a spring lock
titanium blade, and on his back is a dock for his skate board with a
cybernetically triggered release. On his right hip are packs of plastique,
napalm, and cordite, and on his left hip are magnesium flares, smoke pellets,
incendiary caps, ball bearings, and spur jacks. His helmet has goggles
with infra-red and telescopic enhancements with a camera attachment, breathing
apparatus and voice scrambler, sonic enhancements, and is the computerized
connection with the rest of the suit. And, although the suit has
considerable weight, Thrasher has train so extensively in it that it doesn't
hamper his movement. Later it is revealed, that the basic armor design was
based on the armor used by the guards of the Temple of the Dragon's Breadth
Cult.

Omega the Unknown
(Deceased) (Model X3Z, Sam) A super powered alien from the planet

Because of his ability to absorb biospheric energy (psionic energy from all
living things known as the Creative Force) he is super strong, is able to cast
bolts of energy from his hands, and has some psychokinetic abilities, including
a psychic link with his counterpart, James-Michael Starling. He, in every
aspect resembles a human, and his costume is a blue body suit with red thigh
high boots and wrist bands and an Omega shaped headband. His cape is red
with a yellow interior. He was one of the advanced robots developed by the
Protar, who, in trying to save their doomed race, created these prototypes and
sent them around the galaxy to gather information on the various humanoid races
so they could make the final products perfect. X3Z was sent to the planet
Srenesk, where he won renown as their greatest warrior, and they decided to
bestow upon him heir latest development, the ability to channel biospheric
energy. Knowing the risk of this, the Protar came to stop the process, but
they were perceived as the villains, and Omega used his new power to its fullest
resulting in the devastation of the whole planet. In the process, he,
through his psionic link with his counterparts, transferred this ability to
Starling. And, when he discovered that the Protar considered them threats
and intended on destroying them, he, unable to wrap his mind around the fact
that he had wiped out his 'home' race of people, commandeered a spaceship for
Earth to protect the only other surviving prototype. After doing his best
to protect the youth, he decided to make some money to get the boy and his
friend out of Hell's Kitchen and some place more safe, so went to work in Las

Dr. Strange cast a spell on its atomic count down clock and slowed it to a
crawl, turning seconds into years. However, while trying to save the Sub-Mariner, he later cast a
spell that affected the clock and Omegatron reawakened, taking a more humanoid
form. He was stopped by the newly formed Defenders when Valkyrie III used
the Ebony Blade to remove his head. So that no one else would encounter
the dormant debris on the beach at Point Promontory, ME., Strange cast a
concealment spell, but several months later, it was broken by a man named Jeff
Colt, who the remains of Omegatron manipulated into being his human battery.
With his new powers, the Anything Man could create any powers he wanted or
needed, and every time he used them, more and more power was feeding back into
Omegatron, bringing him inch by inch back to using his doomsday device. He
was, however, thwarted by the Defenders once again when they learned the secret
