alternate reality, it was the gathering of the Asian nations of this reality to
fight against the Egyptian, Assyrian, and Anglo-Saxon Confederation forces
during the second Great War of that reality when those eastern nations were
struggling for sovereignty. The people, referred to as Pacasians,
developed the Atomic bomb first and dropped a bunch of them on the capital of
the United States of Assyria, laying waste to the tri-state area of New Memphis,
New Hebrides, and Aknatonicut. Afterward, the war was considered a
stalemate. It is undetermined whether the nations gained their ultimate

of the Dragon's Breadth Cult into marrying the daughters of the Cult who were
the final generation of centuries of selective breeding in order to produce
offspring that would one day have enough power to harness the emanations from
the Well of All Things and eventually rule the world. It was said in their
prophesies that in order to produce the proper offspring, they daughters of the
Cult must mate with men from the west. The Half Fulls just happened to
stumble on the final step of the process. With the exception of Lt.
Taylor, who refused to participate, all the unions produced children, but over
the years there were a few stumbling blocks to the final realization of the
power. The children of Chord, Tai's own grandchildren, were reported
killed in an auto accident (for which she had to switch Chord's interest to
Taylor's son, Dwayne (Night Thrasher)), Casseas' daughter was critically wounded
in an accident, and before the whole plan was ready to come to fruition, Casseas
usurped the power from his daughter and gathered the offspring together for his
own purposes.

Phoenix II
(Deceased) ('Jean Grey' see: Ms. Destiny, Black Queen, Dark Phoenix) An alien entity
which replaced Jean Grey, taking her appearance and her memories, when she was
grievously wounded while saving the rest of the X-Men when she piloted the Starcore shuttle back to Earth after dealing with Steven Lang and the Mark III
Sentinels. She placed the nearly dead Jean in a protective cocoon and
'rose from her ashes' in her yellow and green costume as the new Phoenix. At first believed
to be Jean Grey by all, even fooling Wolverine's enhanced senses, it brought
with it the devastatingly powerful entity known as the Phoenix Force, which
seemed to mimic the real Jean's powers and to have inexplicably augmented them,
including the ability to fly and to cast energy bolts from her hands.
After a short hiatus to recuperated and to gather her seemingly scattered
memory, she proved herself as a valid member of the team when they saved all of
reality by stopping D'Ken Neramani from using the M'Kraan Crystal. During
the process of healing the Crystal, she nearly lost herself to the Phoenix
Force, but was saved by the presence of her friends [UXM #108].
After her team mates were thought to have perished in Magneto's Antarctic Base [UXM
#113], she went on a long soul searching vacation in Greece (where she was
scouted by Jason Wyngarde) and ended up in Scotland where Moira MacTaggert ran a
series of tests on her to determine the extent of her new powers, and, while in
Stornoway, she first encountered the disguised Mastermind [UXM #122]. The
mutant villain, using the Mindtrap Mechanism, began the process of seducing and
subverting her using the Timeslips to get her under his power, to be a willing
member of the Hellfire Club as one of the Inner Circle, even to the point of
turning against her old team mates, including Scott as the Black Queen.
Later, after being sentenced to death by the Shi'ar for crimes she committed as
Dark Phoenix, she gave her life rather than allow the Phoenix Force to take
complete control of her again. She was buried in St. Stephen's Chapel at
Bard College. REL: Mother of Phoenix III.

when accessed and is generally feared throughout the universe as much as the

stars to regenerate its power without giving any thought to the inhabitants of
the planets it destroys in the process. It was first seen within the
entity (Phoenix II) that had replaced Jean Grey in the X-Men, and slowly, with
the help of the Hellfire Club, the real nature of the Force took control and
seemed to be taking possession of the entity until it was driven out at the
death of that entity. Later, it reappeared in the form of Rachel Summers,
the daughter of Phoenix II and Scott Summers from the Future Past
alternate reality.

brought in by IDIC to absorb the energy signature left behind by the death of
the mutant Proteus II and kept on a short leash by his mom, who soon got the
idea to double cross their employers and keep the energy for herself. The
idea backfired when he absorbed too much and he joined with Kevin MacTaggart and

Pip the Troll
(Prince Gofern) A diminutive beer swilling, cigar smoking, woman chasing,
and conniving troll who is considered to be a decadent, lecherous debaucher of
the lowest order, and although those are considered his more endearing qualities
and he and his people are generally disliked throughout the universe, he has
proven to be a loyal and stalwart side kick to Adam Warlock over the years.
At one time, he had been a prince on Laxidazia, but because of generations of
inbreeding in the aristocracy, he was a cretin who enjoyed nothing better
painting monotone starscapes. On one of his many art outings, he
encountered some of the 'trolls' of his people and he spent the night reveling
and drinking with them and in the morning found himself transformed into one of
them, a process that was irreversible. Now stocky, pointed eared, two
toed, with fur on his ankles, he set out from his home planet and began his
career of carousing and drinking across the galaxy. It was during this
time that he encountered Warlock and helped him to defeat the Magus the first
time and became the hero's life long friend and compatriot. Later,
after having earned Thanos' great displeasure, was lobotomized by the mad Titan,
and Warlock rescued his soul and brought it to reside in Soul World. He,
Warlock, and Gamora made a foray out as spirits to defeat the mad Titan when he
had first gathered the Infinity Gems and reached for godhood (MTO AN #2).
Some time later, when Thanos was resurrected by Death and formed the Infinity
Gauntlet to wipe out half the universe, Warlock reanimated three dead bodies and
reincarnated he his two friends back to reality, improving the forms so that now
Pip has strength on par with Spider-Man. After the defeat of Thanos, and
Warlock had taken possession of the Gauntlet, he was ordered by the Living
Tribunal to divest himself of his godhood, and he gathered to together those he
considered best for the job, and gave them each one of the Gems to safeguard
from misuse. Pip received the Space Gem which allowed him to teleport over
vast distances. GA:

cellular regeneration in exchange for a full pardon, he jumped at the chance.

Presence (Sergei
Krylov) Known as the most influential man in Russia, he is a mutant who
feeds off of decaying radioatcivity, dying from an
incurable disease and operates his business interests from a special shielded
room in a secret bunker known as Codename: Sergei. He had discovered
what he hoped to be a cure, extreme cobalt radiation treatments, and an avenue
to reach a higher form of existence. Unfortunately, to accomplish the
final treatment would require the detonation of a nuclear device that would rip
apart half of Europe. Into this mix, add Dr. Tania (Red Guardian II)
Belinsky, who he has worshipped from afar and has the KGB kidnap so she can be
his mate and join him in the transmogrification. She tries to escape, but
she is fitted with one of his Control Cowls, and goes along willingly.
After the preliminary treatments, he sets of the bomb that does tear Europe

essentially a living nuclear reaction held together with his armored containment
suit and helmet, and is forced to move around in a flying control chair.
He is now able to emit incredibly concentrated blast of radioactive energy from
his hands to the magnitude that he effortlessly knocked Hulk away and actually
destroyed The Behemoth from Below. When Tania regained her senses, she put
herself between him and her friends, the Defenders (who had come with the
Sub-Mariner to stop the nuclear testing that was poisoning the water) and he was
told that he really didn't love her, just an ideal. He was crushed, but
left his enemies to live and left the woman he thought he'd loved [DEF #55].
One of his next acts was to return to Kyshtym, the site of one of his earlier

radiation) but he was rescued when Red Guardian II stepped in to help [DEF #65]. REL: Father of Darkstar and Vanguard.

Project Armageddon
The six year, multi-billion dollar project started by Dr. Steven Lang designed
to wipe out mutant kind. Stationed both in a secret base in the
Adirondacks and onboard the space platform (formally the SHIELD Space Platform)
known as Armageddon Command Base, Lang, using money from the US government and
the Council of the Chosen was working to produce the ultimate Sentinels, based
on he designs of Larry Trask and upgraded to adapt to the powers of all known
mutants. They even produced smaller versions which had the appearance of
the original X-Men. Double crossing both investors, he put his plan into
action (earlier than expected) and began hunting down mutants. The plans
were ruined when the X-Men raided his platform via the Starcore Shuttle, and not
only destroyed his seemingly endless supply of Sentinels, but Cyclops nearly
killed him for kidnapping Jean Grey. On the way home from this jaunt is

Project: Earth
A small but very ambitious band of eco-terrorists whose primary concern was the
prevention of the deforestation of the Brazilian rain forest by any means and any
lengths necessary, even manipulation, deceit, and violence, and they believed it
was worth selling their souls to save the planet for tomorrow's children.
They even hired a band of eco-sensitive mercenaries, Force of Nature, to help
them in their war against the lumber companies and developers. Omar Barrenos, the leader of the group, recruited members that would most further
their cause, financial wizards, political scientists, military strategists,
including the famous ex-actress, Madeline Naylor Baldwin, whom they pretended to
kidnap just for the publicity's sake. Down in Brazil, when their
underhanded efforts were curtailed by the New Warriors (who had come down to
save Speedball's mom), they stooped to 'sacrificing' one of their members
(Madelyn) so they could blame the murder onto the developers. The killing
was thwarted, but the other members of the band escaped justice in a helicopter.
Later, after the suspected bombing of one of their vessels, Shauneghann was
working for the smuggler, Sea Urchin, for months before the creep ran afoul of
Namorita and, with Michael's help, was put out of business [NW #14]. While
planning their next move in Mindanao, the Folding Circle invaded their HQ to

Protars Living
bioorganic robots fro the planet Protaris who, when they discovered that their
civilization was doomed, decided to make heirs to their race by creating
advanced humanoid robots, but to do so, they first sent prototypes to the
various worlds to learn more about humans, their emotions and so forth, so they
could make their final creations perfect. One of the last, Model X3Z, was
sent to Srenesk, where he not only blended in, he became their greatest and most
celebrated warrior, and they bestowed upon him their greatest discovery, the
ability to channel biospheric energy. Knowing the hazard of this, the
Protar went to the planet to intervene, and when they were perceived as
invaders, X3K used his his new power to its fullest and, to their expectations,
laid waste to the planet. Worse yet, in the fray, he psychically
transferred the ability to his other counterpart on Earth, James-Michael
Starling, and now they were forced to eliminate both of their finest prototypes.
X3K (Omega the Unknown) overheard their plans and rushed to Earth to save his
lone counterpart and together they stove off the many attacks of the
misunderstood Protars. Until finally, their true past and origins were
discovered by the telepath, Moondragon while the Defenders were trying to stop
them from attacking the boy, Starling [DEF #77]. The Protars are humanoid
with all black featureless bodies (although they appear to be wearing boots and
gloves) with simply a glow where their faces should be, and their heads are
capped with three light blue ridges running to the back of their skull.

bodies (and burning them out as he siphons off their energy) and can distort
their perceptions, which was first thought to be the ability to alter reality.
Considered dangerous, he was being contained in a cell on Muir Island that
restrained his mutant power, but when he was released accidentally during a
fight between Magneto and the X-Men, he went on a rampage across
the British Isles, killing several people, including his own father. When
he inhabited his father's body, he discovered an unprecedented symbiosis that
allowed his to remain in that body much longer than any of the others, until he
burned it out fighting the X-Men. He

MO, but he saw a way to use his new ability to entrap those he despised, by
creating a nuclear powered clamp for the Thing and his Ice Maiden mannequin that
produced super cooled air down to 240 degrees below freezing to battle the Human
Torch II. The plan failed, and resulted in Masters falling victim to his
own device and turning into a living mannequin.

battle suit that would give him increased power and increased invulnerability
and which he used to start his life of crime in retaliation against a society
that had chewed him up in the recession, figuring to rob only banks that were
insured and to use the money to pay off his creditors. His body armor,
made of a special alloy he had invented, isn't as sophisticated as the Iron Man
armor and has visible ratchets and braces on the outside of his red and yellow
suit, and has no elaborate weapons system and must be powered by an exterior
source. He didn't get any further than the first bank when he ran
afoul of the Champions, and after dodging police with he new Jet pack, he was
seriously injured when its fuel tank exploded. Later, after being rescued
for the hospital prison, he was more
seriously injured when the Crimson
Dynamo IV used him as a human bomb against the Champions, and left comatose and

taking control of Iceman, placing him in the Rampage armor, and using him to
extort money out of Angel. Going with the strategy, if Angel doesn't pay
him he'll make Bobby go out and hurt someone, which worked until Spider-Man was
added to the mix. Angel short circuited his control chair, which he
figured would stop his long time friend, but the final order to kill remained in
his mind. And, even though he had control enough to ice up, shattering the
armor, he still continued to try and kill Spidey and Angel. After trashing
the Champions building and almost killing some innocent bystanders, Spidey
shocked the command out of him by luring him into a hot carwash.

Her costume is red with a white star on the chest, white gloves and swash
buckler boots and she allows her long black hair to flow freely from her red
half helmet. She came to the United States through the influence of Dr.
Strange with people in the State Department to operate on his ailing team mate

protecting the legs, chest and around the neck. His first act was to repel
Rhino and Solarr (who had come to steal the jewel) from the room in the hotel
where his metamorphosis took place, and his second act, combining its great
power with that of the mage he began to seize control on NYC by taking over
everyone's minds. The mind control however only worked on certain people
and it was undetermined why or how the others were unaffected. As he
prepared his final push to ultimate power by using the energy from the
ensorcelled people to capture the minds of everyone else in the world, he was
attacked by the female members of his team, the Defenders, and, although he
pitted the raw power of the Hulk and Luke Cage against them, Clea was able to

him into a half man, half motor cycle freak) and lost over and over, until
finally, his boss did away with him, turning him into a bloated freak. He

Reptyl,
Cap'n
(deceased) (Reptyl the Non-Human) The anthropomorphic dinosaur who is the captain of a band of Space Pirates
working out of the Coalsack. His race evolved from reptiles rather than
mammals, and he has a distinct hate for the races that did, except for the
Contemplator, who, having left the Coalsack billions of years before, had given
his race a chance to develop, and so was in some small way indebted to the Elder
(although his presence was not so much welcome as tolerated). In his first
appearance, he manages to capture both the Silver Surfer and Nova II and was
using them to power two of his pirate fleet, but they were rescued by the
Cotati. In his anger, he decapitated the Elder by biting through his neck.
After a short unsuccessful time as a pirate, he threw his lot in with the
Skrulls during the second Kree-Skrull War (simply because of their reptilian
ancestry), saving the life of Empress S'Byll from the Stranger and defeating the
Super-Skrull and becoming her new warlord. In one of the final battles of
the war, he was nearly killed by a deceitful blow when one of his men, Clumsy
Foul-up, under the control of the Contemplator (still alive) and working for the
Kree, stabbed him from behind and blew up his flagship. He however
recovered, but did not survive his second encounter with the Super-Skrull, who
had likewise recovered from a seeming death at Repty's hands (or teeth).

Reptyl's Space Pirates
The motley band of roughneck freebooters under their captain, Reptyl, who
operate out of the Coalsack, attacking passing ships with their fleet of
mismatched spacecraft. In their first appearance, they made the mistake of
attacking the Silver Surfer and Nova II, who were searching for the last Elder
of the Universe, the Contemplator. The two infiltrated their hideout in
disguise, but an altercation gave up their real IDs and they were captured and
used to power two of their ships. When the Cotati intervened and the two
wee released, the pirates had to find a new base of operations. Their
members include: Reptyl, Clumsy Foulup [first seen members], Mobspawn,
Lilita, Belderman [SS3 #12], Kyndron [SS3 #19], Skyrot [SS3 #20], Dalabuur [SS3

Reptyl Prime After
his death at the hands of the Super-Skrull, Cap'n Reptyl's alien physiology wrapped him in a protective cocoon in
which he metamorphosed into the next level (he considers his highest) of his
evolution. Still in his reptilian/humanoid form, his body has become
larger and stronger and is covered with spines and armor plating, his claws are
much longer and he has developed leathery wings with which he can fly. He
is now able to survive unaided in the vacuum of space, and can produce powerful
energy spheres between his hands, which he can cast at enemies with concussive
force. He plans to return to his home in the Coalsack and propagate a race
of Super Reptiles to finally put an end to the humanoid races.
