Tyrant    An ancient incredibly powerful (on par with Galactus) nearly omnipotent despotic being who was bent millennia ago on universal domination.  He is very large humanoid with dark gray skin and is encased in a suit of deadly looking armor (how much of his actual body is the suit is uncertain) and is always connected to his ship, Fortress, and its power by a series of cables from his mouth into the armor and from the back of his head in a huge bundle trailing out behind him.  A millennia ago, his empire spanned galaxies, but he was opposed by the order of woman warriors, the Spinsterhood, who, with the help of Galactus, finally drove him and his armies into seclusion beyond the known borders of space.  Now, centuries later, he has recovered and returned with his army of cyborg Heavy Troopers to start anew his plans to rule over all that is.  Unfortunately, one of the sisters survived in cryogenic sleep all this time, and was awakened when his particular energy signature resurfaced.  She, sworn to see his demise, teamed up with the Silver Surfer, Beta Ray Bill,  Gladiator II,  Terrax, Morg, and Galactus to defeat him again, but it was the Jack of Hearts that turned the tide of battle.  He was forced to release his prisoners and slunk off again, hanging onto Morg to power his Fortress and to tick off the Devourer.

Valkyrie III    The Valkyrie Brunhilde melded to the body of the insane Barbara Norris by the Enchantress, but because of the enchantment, she is unable to raise a hand against another woman.  When the Defenders had tried to rescue the woman Barbara from the clutches of the Nameless One, the spell Dr. Strange employed, not knowing that she had become the demon-god's mate willingly, had torn her mind to shreds, leaving her hopelessly insane.  Upon returning to Earth, they ran afoul of the Executioner who had thrown the Enchantress over for the local wizard queen, Casiolena.  To get revenge on the woman and to get her out of her dungeons, she melded the spirit of the Valkyrie (as she had done with Samantha Parrington in IH #142) with the essentially vacant body of Barbara, allowing the warrior woman's spirit to take total control of the host, submerging her personality, possibly permanently.  After the fight which took down the wizard queen and returned the Executioner to the Enchantress, a disgruntled Black Knight III was turned to stone, and the Valkyrie borrowed not only his Ebony Blade but his winged steed Aragorn as well while Dr. Strange strove to cure him.  At this point, she decided to become one of the non-team members of the Defenders.  When the Ebony Blade was returned to its rightful owner, Dr. Strange replaced it with the mystical blade, Dragonfang [DEF #12] before she embarked on her journey of discovery to find the real Barbara Norris.  After her solo battle with Chondu which caused her brief incarceration, her costume was wrecked and she replaced it with one provided by Clea (essentially a gold 1 piece swimsuit with gold thigh high boots and a blue cape) [DEF #40].  Soon after, she receives another alteration from Clea making her main garment a full silver bodysuit with the same boots and cape [DEF #47].   After the clash with the second Zodiac, Kyle convinced her to take classes at ESU where she ran across her tow admirers, Dollar Bill and Ledge [DEF #51].
