getting government sanction and take up life in the US, but he was wrong [GS UXM

Well of All Things
(destroyed) A nexus of inter-dimensional energies located in Kampuchea, Cambodia on the Plateau Dus Bolovens.
Sometime in the distant past, it poked a hole into this world, and was found
sometime later by the progenitors of the Dragon's Breadth Cult.
Recognizing its great power and potential, they spent decades building a Temple
around the Well to keep it from prying eyes (even those as acute as Dr.
Strange), and they devised a way to harness that power by careful planning and
breeding to create individuals capable of controlling the 'strength of the
Dragon'. Untold generations followed the rituals until finally, the super
powered offspring that was prophesized, were produced. But, by this time,
the prophesies had been twisted to suit the latest high priestess, Tai, and she
wanted to use the offspring (now as a team called the Folding Circle) or a team
of like powers to plug up the Well and have the power for herself. In the
end, she and the leader of the Circle fell into the Well, causing a chain
reaction that made the Temple implode and the Well to close, leaving nothing but
a crater.

(deceased) An evil ethereal being of wind and ash which is essentially a
tornado with a human head (white hair with an iron facemask) and controlled by
human thought. As such, she is able to pick up items in her vortex and
transport them, or she is able to manipulate her wind storm and use it to tear
someone apart. The story she told Madam Olga, the sham mystic who
unwittingly resurrected her, was later proven to be a fabrication, but it
involved her leaning the magic trade from her father and the citizens of the
Fifteenth century not being thrilled to learn of her magical abilities, tortured
and killed her, by nailing a spiked face mask to her, and then burned her
remains. Unbeknownst to them, while she was dying, she put her spirit into
a nearby candle. Almost five hundred years later, Olga bought the candle,
and as soon as she lit it, Clothilde's spirit was revived, and she proceeded to
do nice things for the old woman, including returning her ability to walk, to
get her to perform the rites that would resurrect her to this plane of
existence. Once through, she dropped the pretense of using white magic and
being nice and prepared to go on a rampage, but she was prevented by Ghost Rider
IV, who had been watching the old woman as Johnny Blaze. And while he
slowed her down with blasts of Hell-fire, the old woman had the wherewithal to
erase the pentagram. The spell was reversed and the Wind Witch dissipated.

Wolverine
(Logan, form. Weapon X, see: Man-Beast of the Yukon, Patch) A savage cigar chomping, beer
swilling ex-Canadian agent (as
codename Weapon X) who has the mutant ability to not only heal at an extremely
rapid rate (to the point of regeneration) he also possesses heightened senses,
mostly affecting his sense of smell, and has razor sharp claws that can be
extended from both hands (three on each fist). Originally, it was believed
that these claws were part of the Adamantinium sheath that was bonded to all his
bones (making him nearly indestructible), but later, when Magneto extracted the
metal from his body, it is revealed that the claws were covering the natural
bony structure already there. Not much of Logan's past is really certain
because of all the mental implants placed in his head by the Weapon X program.
He was born many years ago (confirmed by later continuity as well over 100
years) and served in many wars and many countries along the way. It is
certain that he had dealings with Sabretooth inside the Weapon X program and in
the military and that the evil mutant (who had at one time claimed to be his
father) killed his first love. In more modern times, he was kidnapped by
the Weapon X program because of his healing factor, and subjected to the
incredibly painful process of having the Adamantium bonded to his bones to make
him their own personal unstoppable killing machine. The pain however made
him feral and he broke out of the project, killing most everyone along the way,
and disappeared into the Canadian woods. Here he was found by James and
Heather Hudson and ushered back into civilization with years of therapy to be an
agent of the Canadian Government under Department H from the secret Alpha base.
It is at this point that he is pitted, by his handler Maj. Chasin, against the
Hulk who has breeched Canadian borders and fights the green goliath to a stand
still. A few months afterward, he is approached by Prof. X and given the
chance to become a free agent, and he resigns his commission with the Canadian
government by slashing the tie off his handler (first snikt sound effect and
minor refinements of his costume), who threatens that this isn't the last he'd
hear of the matter [GS UXM #1]. After rescuing the old team of X-Men from
Krakoa, he stays on with the other newbies and forms the new team, and while
grumbling through their early adventures, he grows attached to Jean Grey while
becoming a major thorn in the side of Cyclops. He first used his augmented
sense of smell when he and the team were fighting the X-Sentinels, and by scent
alone he was able to tell that the Jean Grey robot he was fighting wasn't the
real Jeannie [UXM #100]. While in the Savage Land battling Garokk and the
Sun People, Logan displays his healing ability and his ability to communicate
with animals for the first time [UXM #115]. Shortly afterward, in Japan,
the team ended up in Osaka at the home of Sun-Fire, and he met Mariko Yashida
for the first time and revealed that he could speak and read the language [UXM
#118]. Sparks flew between them, and some time later, when she came to the
consulate in NYC, he pursued the relationship further and soon their romance
bloomed [UXM #122]. After the second attempt by Vindicator and Alpha
Flight to return him to Canada, he returned of his own volition to finally bury
the hatchet, at which time he changed his costume (to the brown and tan) and
faced the Wendigo for the second time [UXM #139].

Wolverine's Claws
The 'Knucklehead' has, as part of his mutant ability, three bony claws embedded
in each forearm which he can, with muscular contraction, extend and retract
through the skin of his knuckles, which then heal back over thanks to his
healing factor. These were coated with Adamantium along with the rest of
his skeleton courtesy of the Weapon X Program and made razor sharp. It was
once believed that these had been added during his enhancement, but later, after
Magneto extracted the indestructible metal from his body, it was revealed that
they were actually bony growths. It was also once believed that the claws
were a part of his costume until, when escaping the clutches of Steven Lang, he
popped them with his costume in tatters.

Zarathos (See:
Ghost Rider IV) An ancient demon obsessed with vengeance who was bonded to
the soul of Johnny Blaze to create the Ghost Rider, appearing as a flaming
skeleton taking over the body of his host. Millennia ago, the demon had
managed to get on Mephisto's bad side by garnering a sizable following of
primitives, enough to rival the authority of the lord of the Netherworld.
Mephisto spent the next several thousands of years getting revenge on the lower
demon by removing his memory of his past and chaining him to human hosts
throughout the ages as his instrument of vengeance on Earth, until finally, he
was bonded to the youth, Blaze. Unfortunately, the process was interrupted
and never complete and so the youth had almost complete control over the form of
GR at first, but as time went on and Zarathos became more and more aware of
himself, he began to have more and more control over the GR form. This
began as a slightly more violent streak in GR and the change over began to drain
Johnny more and more. This became almost a split personality between the
two, growing to the point where the other had no recollection of when his alter
ego was in control of the body. But soon, this worsened to the point where
the demon emerged as a separate entity and the battle for the dominance over the
body began in earnest.
This eventually came to a conclusion when, while battling Centurious, his spirit
and the spirit of the villain were drawn into the Crystal of Souls, separating
him from Johnny forever and bringing an end to the Ghost Rider.

Zenn-La The fourth
planet in the Deneb system very much like Earth, but with a much more advanced
civilization. It was saved from the hunger of Galactus when Norrin Radd
took it upon himself to rescue his home planet by offering his services as the
devourer's first herald, the Silver Surfer. Unfortunately, some time after
the Surfer revolted against his master's appetite, that agreement was dissolved
and he attacked the planet anyway. Surfer gave his true love, Shalla-Bal,
part of his power cosmic so that she could return to the planet and renew it,
making it green and alive once more, and for this the people made her their new
empress. Later, when the newly revived planet became a mutual target
during the second Kree-Skrull War, they were approached by the Great One with a
novel plan to make the planet safe. They agreed, and the powerful alien
transformed the planet and people into mental energy and they existed inside his
mind in his own private cosmos. The Surfer arrived and wanted to become a
member, but through a misunderstanding, the Great One was killed and with the
help of Moondragon, they were able to restore the planet to reality and all the
people save Shalla Bal. The capitol of the planet is Zenn-La City, an

giant's new herald in exchange for the well being of the planet. However,
when the Silver Surfer turned against his master, all deals were off, and the
devourer eventually returned and sated his hunger on their planet anyway.
To save his home planet again, the Surfer gave Shalla Bal some of his power
cosmic, and she restored the planet, for which they made her their Empress.
Although she ruled them, she made it a point to make sure that they didn't slip
back into the complacency that nearly killed them years before, so, when the
Surfer finally returned to the planet, fearing that her people would loose their
newly regained self reliance, she refused his help, except as a protector from
the approaching Kree-Skrull War, in which they wanted to remain neutral.
