CASE MEMORIAL LIBRARY REPORT

Last year was another busy year at the library. Many new books were purchased including adult titles of fiction and nonfiction as well as many children's library bound books. Improvements to the building and grounds continue to be made.
During the past year, visits to the library totaled 698, circulation 956, reference requests 20, and 16 new library cards were issued. Patrons are able to borrow the current bestsellers without being placed on a waiting list.
Internet access is still available through our internet service provider, the Maine School and Library Network. This summer our hook-up was upgraded to a 56K network connection. At the same time, we acquired e-mail access. FYI, these services are provided to our library through grant money at no cost to the taxpayers of our town. You may contact the library with questions or to renew books by phone at 884-8598 or by e-mail at the address dianes@casemem.lib.me.us.
The parking lot and sidewalks were paved in July. Now we have convenient off street parking located in the lot next to the library. Hopefully patrons will take advantage of our new, expanded, and safer parking area.
Do you know that Case Memorial Library has quality books for all ages? Children's books include Dr. Seuss, Caldecott Award winners, and Arthur books, junior books include Harry Potter, Goosebumps, and Babysitters Club, and adult books consisting of the current bestsellers of fiction and nonfiction titles. If you would like to obtain research material, we have encyclopedias, wildlife magazines, research books, and available internet access. Would you like to try the internet but don't know how to use it? Assistance is offered and print copies are available at no cost. Take advantage of the free services offered by your community library which has been in existence since 1915.
When you open a book you open your mind. Check out what is happening at the library during the 150th birthday of the Town of Kenduskeag. Historical displays will be exhibited all year. Library hours are Monday and Thursday 6:00-8:00 pm.
